SourdoughFrench Red wheat

Heritage grain with depth and character.

Naturally leavened and made with Rouge de Bordeaux from Tuerong Farm, Victoria alongside Australian bakers flour and freshly milled wholewheat.

Rouge de Bordeaux is a heritage wheat variety with French origins, prized for its distinctive flavour and character. Paired with our freshly milled hard white wheat, it creates a beautifully balanced sourdough with warm, nutty notes, a fuller wheat flavour and a tender crumb.

More characterful than our Artisan White, yet light and versatile enough to be an everyday loaf.

Made slowly for flavour, texture and keeping quality.

Ingredients
Australian wheat flour, water, Rouge de Bordeaux wheat flour, freshly milled hard white wheat, sourdough culture (wheat flour, water), sea salt.

Allergens
Wheat (gluten).

Serving & storage
Excellent fresh with butter, for sandwiches or toasted.

Store at room temperature. Do not refrigerate. Best within 3 days. Slice and freeze to keep for longer.

When do orders close ?

Orders close Wednesday at 5pm for Friday’ collection. As we bake in small batches to order, some loaves may sell out before the cut-off, so we recommend ordering early.

How should I store my sourdough

Store your sourdough at room temperature in its bag or a bread box. Do not refrigerate..

For best results, enjoy within 3 days. If you won’t finish your loaf within that time, we recommend slicing and freezing it.

Can I freeze my sourdough

Absolutely. Sourdough freezes beautifully.

For convenience, slice your loaf before freezing and store it in an airtight bag or container. Toast slices straight from frozen, or allow them to thaw at room temperature before warming.

This is the best way to keep your Croft Lane sourdough tasting fresh for longer.
